Since 1998, we have been providing preschool and child care services for our parents in Ahwatukee, Chandler, Tempe, and even Maricopa. Our parents have found our school conveniently located, and fairly close to Intel, Avnet, Dell, Liberty Mutual, TriZetto Group and more.

Our daughter attended A Step Ahead for her last year of preschool, and we couldn't be more pleased with her education and progress during that time! She would come home from school counting in Spanish from one to twenty, singing songs about the continents, and writing all of her letters and numbers. There is probably more that she hasn't even told us, but every day I am amazed at the things she learned while at that school. Her teacher, Ms. Debbie, is clearly very well trained and passionate about teaching children. The administration is extremely friendly and on top of things. Everyone is so kind to one another, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. I would highly recommend A Step Ahead to other parents!

A Step Ahead Preschool and Montessori is a smaller family run preschool. Parents interface with the owners on a daily basis which fosters open communication between the parent and school. A Step Ahead has excellent programs across age groups with smaller class sizes that are more conducive to learning and nurturing. In addition there is a very low employee turnover which leads to more security and connection for the children. The staff and owners are very loving and caring and these same attributes can be seen throughout the preschool environment. Thanks Step Ahead for caring for our children!

My son went to preschool here from ages 12-25 months. It was a wonderful school and I couldn't recommend it more. The teachers all seem to genuinely love kids and many have degrees in child development and lots and lots of experience. The school is also extremely secure and Mesa and Aram are wonderful and extremely accommodating. They use multiple learning techniques that include Montessori and structure. My son's vocabulary exploded after he started, he sings all the time, and he uses sign language.

They're flexible and personable - it's just the approach you want when you're a busy working parent with little ones. We love A Step Ahead! The staff are all very friendly, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. We left a different school, because our son has allergies and kept having episodes, but we have had zero problems since switching to A Step Ahead.

FAQ
Ms. Maysa moved to Arizona from Canada at the start of 2005. After the birth of her first daughter, Nikki, Maysa had found it to be difficult to be away from her immediate family. Nikki's relatively young grandparents wanted to be closer to her first grandchild, too.
Maysa initially received her postsecondary education in business management and sales. However, being a mother for the first time had been a life-changing experience and motivated her to learn more about the early childhood education. So, she decided to pursue her Master’s degree in education.
Maysa received her Master in elementary education with emphasis in curriculum and instruction from the University of Ottawa. After she obtained her State of Arizona K-8 teaching certification, she started to experience teaching in the District of Creighton, and being in the classroom with some of our underprivileged children in phoenix.
As the head of our school and its financial officer, Mr. Aram's background is more in science and management. He'd spent in his management position for nine years in Ottawa, before he joined his family (Maysa & Nikki) here in phoenix.
When the idea of “let’s run our own preschool and childcare!” was cooking in Maysa’s and Aram’s heads, the birth of their second child, Melissa, has just given them no better reason than just let’s do it: Like the shining light!
